ABOUT SARAH MAGUIRE
Sarah Maguire started her own PR consulting firm in May 2022 after a ten-year PR agency career, focusing on meaningful brand storytelling in the food and beverage CPG startup space. She has understood the ever-evolving media landscape, mastering both traditional and non-traditional media relations, including affiliate marketing, thought leadership, and VIP + influencer relationship building.
With experience in entertainment, hospitality, technology, and lifestyle public relations at agencies including Derris and RVD Communications, she found her niche in the food/beverage startup space at JBC Communications and most recently was spearheading the CPG division at celebrity talent agency The Lede Company. Sarah graduated from Elon University with a bachelor's degree in Strategic Communications and is a proud DC native, currently living in New York City.
When she isn’t working, you can find Sarah sipping on an old-fashioned and cooking a cozy meal at home. Likely dumplings or some sort of noodles, let's be honest. She loves to travel as much as possible and embrace new cultures, taking her first solo trip to Paris and London in 2022 and spend time in her favorite place — the beach at Cape May, New Jersey! Known for her bold style and bubbly personality, Sarah is the best dinner party guest that will walk away making a new friend or at least have a memorable story for the next day.
The Origins of SMPR
Sarah Maguire launched Sarah Maguire PR in May 2022 after a decade-long career in public relations to focus on meaningful brand storytelling in the food and beverage CPG industry. She spent her first few years in PR gaining experience across a ton of industries from technology to healthcare to entertainment. Sarah had her aha moment that her main interests of eating and drinking could be turned into a full-time career, so she worked at RVD Communication learning the ins and outs of hospitality and lifestyle PR. There she had the amazing opportunity to work closely with talented chefs at NYC’s most beloved and up-and-coming restaurants for almost two years (886, Left Bank), along with incredible consumer brands in the lifestyle space such as Buffy and Wild One.
Sarah then went to top-tier PR agency JBC Communications well known for founder-driven media relations, finding her niche leading accounts in the food + beverage CPG space. She worked with several buzzy brands including Magic Spoon, SIMULATE (aka NUGGS), United Sodas, and Táche, learning the power of sharing a brand’s story in as many different media verticals as possible. Sarah went on to spearhead the CPG division at entertainment agency Lede Company. Known for its non-traditional media approach, she honed in on leveraging affiliates and celebrity talent behind the brands launching several brands including Mercer + Prince (A$AP Rocky) and Gran Coramino (Kevin Hart) along with Once Upon A Farm (Jennifer Garner), Tony’s Chocolonely, and Maison No 9 (Post Malone).
